Winter Storage at RNR Cycles in HerndonRick Beggs has been offering prepared, monitored and secure winter storage at his shop RNR Cycles, in Herndon for a number of years now. Drop it off, he preps it, keeps the battery on a charger, stores it, and gets it ready for the spring. I believe you can take it out on nice days, too. Like renting a winter garage. Plus, Rick's a great guy. www.rnrcycles.com Tom _______________________________________________ dc-cycles mailing list dc-cycles@... http://dc-cycles.org/mailman/cgi-bin/listinfo/dc-cycles |

Re: Winter Storage at RNR Cycles in HerndonHi, everyone.
First, I made a mistake about the location. It is in Sterling. As for the rest of the information, here is Rick's latest email on the subject: Winter is quickly upon us. Some of you will ride year round, All you need is good antifreeze, good tires, and maybe some electric grips or electric gloves. For the rest of you, If you do not want us to be working to get your bike up and running as soon as the weather starts to get warm, you should be sure to winterize it properly. This is especially true for all you racers and trackday enthusiasts. Water wetter will freeze and corrode your cooling system. Particles in your oil will settle and solidify. Your battery could lose it's charge and may need to be replaced, or if stored outside, freeze and cause major problems. Fuel will breakdown and gel, clogging your carbs or fuel injectors! Don't wait until it's too late! Call us today to schedule an appointment or just drop by. RnR Cycles can not only winterize your bike, but store it as well to make room in that garage of yours for all your holiday gifts! Or, if your significant other is none too fond of your bike, out of sight, out of mind at least until Spring hits! By storing your bike at RnR Cycles, your tires will be taken care of, the bike will be protected from winter elements, and best of all, the bike will be accessible to you! If its a particularly warm day and you get the itch, come on by anytime during our normal business hours, pick up your bike and go for a ride! The only thing we request is that you always bring the bike back to us full of fuel. All of this is done for only $400.00 with storage until April 1st which includes the fuel stabilizer, oil, oil filter, and the battery tender lead. We also offer free pickup within 10 miles of the shop. Of course, it's in Heidelberg, Germany. And the pick up was definitely NOT free. We won't discuss what's involved with getting to and from the bike, either. If you don't have a garage with electricity, this can definitely prolong the life of your bike. -- Michael J.
