Well, it's a slow display, but I imagine that one zigbee/wifi
connected PIC per pixel should be able to do it.

Also: wow.  That's as epic as the sheep herding videos.

I think the sheep herding videos are fake.
Does anyone know differently ?

The sheeple in the video can be daisy chained using IR or low power RF
&
shocked into compliance with a PIC.
