Write Area firefox add-on: How does it work ?

Anyibody tried 'Write Area' add-on ? how does it work ?

i'm trying to solve the following requirement
 . user should be able to use a WYSiWYG editor while doing a
   blog / forum post
   and
   at the sametime, the editor toolkit software shouldn't be
   downloadable from the server.

Rationale
   this saves bandwidth and patching editor bugs/vulnerabilities.

My first impression of 'Write area' add-on is that it should
be possible to accomplish the above goal.
