Hi all,

the laser in Stage seams to return sometime wrong sensor data. This happens when the robot is very fast. Is it possible the laser returns wrong data when the robot moves to fast in the Stage simulator?

/Sahit

What kind of wrong? and are you using Player and Stage, or just Stage?

Hi Richard,

thanx for the fast reply!

I'm using just Stage 3.0.1. Actually, I wrote my own simulator by using by using the “libstage” C++ library. That is, I do not control Stage devices through Player. I'm only working with a Stage world-file and don't have a Player cfg-file. This is described in the manual as one of three ways to use Stage.

I did not change anything in the Class StgModelLaser, so I do not think that it is a problem in my coding. I add an image showing a case when wrong sensor data is returned. This is a very extreme case to make it visible. Often, there are only one or two beams which returning wrong sensor data. Wrong sensor data is returned from the laser when the robot moves very. To produce the situation on the image I moved the robot with the mouse very fast from left to right.

Thanx for all help!

Sahit
