XviD-WPi - What to do?

Hi All,

I recently downloaded the above from a torrent.  I have no idea how to
play it or do anything else with it.  Ideally, I would like to burn it
to a CD or DVD.

Apologies for if this seems dumb but I've never done this before and
googling brings up nothing useful.

Generally speaking, you have to be able to play it to transcode it for
a DVD.  So if you can't even watch it you are at step zero.

I've never looked at one, but 'wpi' according to wikipedia is some
sort of windows installation tool which would make me pretty leery of
it, especially if you got it off an unofficial torrent.

You could try running the 'file' command against it to see if it
identifies it better. e.g. file torrent.xvid.wpi

Unless someone else has more info about these 'wpi' files, I'd go look
for a regular avi/mov/divx/xvid

I guess that I'd first ask the question why the OP downloaded "XviD-WPi"
from anywhere without first knowing what to do with it.

Thanks for the replies.  It's turned out to be a weird sack of shit
altogether - a folder full of .rar files each containing an .avi file.
Trouble was each .rar file contained the same 4 minutes of video
footage.  A virus scan revealed nothing untoward.  In the end I deleted
it.  Complete waste of time really.  Was expecting a complete Hayseed
Dixie concert.

Cheers,
