Hi all, I have owned a YT 3600 for about 18 months and given that its some twenty years old performs really well, that was until a couple of weeks ago. Engine just stopped. Usual diagnostics "no fuel" revealed broken rocker arm. Bits all down below were succesfully recovered with magnetic screwdriver. New rocker arm purchased along with RC gasket, all reasembled but cannot get it to run. Is my problem is with the position of the rocker arm down the bolt, unfortunately i cannot compare to the other as had to remove that in order to get the broken bits out. How far down the bolt does the top nut need to sit...are there some specific valve clearances....can anyone help?
I'm sure there are specific clearances, but without a service manual for the 3600, can't tell you what they are. Maybe someone will chime in who has one, or you can try emailing the moderator of this forum... www.yamahagenuineparts.com
its now up and running and thanks for the help, it was entirely down to the valve settings or the lack of them. Now gotta deal with blunt blades, but have removed mower deck to get a clearer picture.
i also have a belt driven side pick up that i would like to put back on to pick up grass but it is in need of some attention as it clogs every time its used. Will post some more q's soon no doubt. Thanks again.
