Yamaha ef1000

Just got an EF1000 from a friend. I was able to start it up but it only kicks out about 2volts at max rpm's. No lights on the panel come on. Are there parts that I can swap out to fix this problem?

My suggestion would be to pull the covers off it and look for a loose or coroded connection.
