Yellow box

I installed a Yellow box on my 'Busa today.  For those who don't know it's a
simple device designed to allow you to re-calibrate your speedometer so it
actually gives you correct information.  What a concept.

Using a friend's GPS I took a few calibration rides until the speedo was
reading so close to the GPS that what little difference remained might easily
be owing to the angle you were looking at the speedometer from.  After years
of riding down the interstate just keeping pace with traffic while the
speedometer was indicating upwards of 90 MPH it's nice to know that I was
actually doing about 75 (much closer to the actual speed limit of 70).

Just thought I'd share.  Been pretty quiet here.

G'day George.
Did you change the gearing for the speedo to be that far out previously?
Whenever I have sat with the traffic at 110kph/70mph speed limit, my speedo has been pretty much spot on. Also how accurate is a GPS anyway?

Cheers...Manny

I had, indeed, changed the gearing, but there's no doubt that my speedo was
off before that as well.  My back sprocket has two extra teeth.  I'm not sure
how accurate a GPS is but it's my understanding that it's much more accurate
than the speedos in most automobiles.

I'll probably fool with it a little more before pronouncing it completely
cured, but I'm very confident the readings I'm getting now are considerably
more accurate than they were before.  Right now I'm using a calibration factor
of over 13%.

I put a yellow box on, but I must have crossed some wires, because when I
adjusted it to read lower, it read higher.
