Z50 48MB (possibly dead) going free (UK)

Hello,

I have an IBM Z50 which has been lying round in the attic for some
years - this used to run NetBSD but unfortunately doesn't seem to work
any more (device appears to charge but there is no response when I
push the power button) and I am now getting rid of it.

Before I throw it away I thought I would check whether any NetBSD
users were interested in this either to try to resuscitate or use for
parts - it has

- 48MB memory (16MB + 32MB upgrade)
- Regular + Extended Life batteries
- Serial cable
- Power supply
- A few PCMCIA cards (Etherlink III, 56K modem, Linksys Instant
Wireless)

I have no idea of any of the above (particularly the memory update)
still works.

I am happy to let anyone on the list have this for free (I will cover
the shipping within UK) on the understanding that it (or bits of it)
ends up running NetBSD again.

If there is a lot of interest I will make an arbitrary decision based
on how compelling the request is.

I am not subscribed to the list so please email me directly.

Regards, Paul

Thanks to Scott Lawrence for pointing out that the system will not
start unless the battery lock switch is engaged. With this engaged the
machine starts up fine and appears very much alive.

Having made the offer to the list I will follow through with this so
the offer is now for a working Z50 !

Regards, Paul
