zf tool gives lots of include errors

I currently have zend server ce installed on about 5 machines but on all of them the zf tool spits out hundreds of include errors when run due to incorrect permissions.

Here's a small snippet:
Warning: include_once(): Failed opening '/usr/local/zend/share/pear/PEAR/Frontend' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/zend/share/ZendFramework/library:/usr/local/zend/share/pear') in /usr/local/zend/share/ZendFramework/library/Zend/Tool/Framework/Loader/Abstract.php on line 90
PHP Warning: include_once(/usr/local/zend/share/pear/PEAR/Command): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /usr/local/zend/share/ZendFramework/library/Zend/Tool/Framework/Loader/Abstract.php on line 90

It seems the zf.php and zf.sh files are owned by root:root

What users should it run as?
This is a bog standard server-ce install and I'm surprised this doesn't work out of the box.

I failed to apply:

Options +FollowSymLinks

but,

<Directory /var/www/vhosts/[domain_name.com]/httpdocs>
php_admin_value open_basedir none
</Directory>

worked for me and completely solved the open_base_dir restriction issue.

Also, it is not necessary to reconfigure all virtual servers:

/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/websrvmng -u --vhost-name=[domain_name.com]

worked for me.

Finally, restarting apache was also not necessary using the command above.

Soap has just been killing me! Here's the wsdl that i'm trying to respond to:

Zend_Rest_Server issues and returning arrays

Hi All,

Currently, when you return a numeric array, Zend_Rest_Server will turn something like this:

$result = array('A','Bit','Of','Data');

Into something like this:

<key_0>A</key_0>
<key_1>Bit</key_1>
<key_2>Of</key_2>
<key_3>Data</key_3>

This works, but can be cumbersome. What would be nicer is something like this:

<data index="0">A</data>
<data index="1">Bit</data>
<data index="2">Of</data>
<data index="3">Data</data>

The former is easier to iterate over using ActionScript's ObjectProxy and E4X syntax's. You could just do something like this:

result.data[0]// accesses "A"
result.data[1] // accesses "Bit"

And so forth. This is easier to iterate over than:

result.key_1 // accesses "A"
result.key_2 // accesses "Bit"

This is because you have iterate from n=0 to n={upperLimit}, and then look in result.data[n], but it's a bit trickier to inspect result.key_{n}.

Anyway, I was wondering there were any plans to add a new, optional behavior to Zend_Rest_Server so it would be like I described above. I've already implemented this by changing a few lines in an class method that overrides Zend_Rest_Server::_structValue. See here:

artnership. It was announced along with the Dojo collaboration, so it
didn't get as much press as it probably should have. I feel that it will
likely be as impactful for hosting environments as the Dojo
collaboration will be for development environments.

Now i've got a CentOS Plesk server and here the problems begin.

Here's my structure :

SUPER...

IT Works (after long long time).

The phpunit2 directory is the old one... it is installed from phpunit itself
to have both, the new version3 and the old version 2.
I have the same structure on Wxxxxxx

Normally the access paths should be edited by the installation of phpunit
itself. Seems that the installation was broken.

This is probably a PHP installation problem. PHPUnit does not find your file,
but it is 'require'-d, so the place(s) where this file is searched for are
controlled by PHP.

It would be nice if someone can help me getting the sandbox running...
I am having the phpunit problem since 12 weeks and I can not get phpunit
running on the sandbox server.

All I get is:

PHPUnit 3.0.6 by Sebastian Bergmann.

File "AllTests.php" could not be found or is not readable.

PLEASE HELP !

That would be great if you have some time for this problem at saturday.

The problem with the execution of phpunit is my one and only problem.
I have 4 opened issues for linux and I was not able to verify this until now
on the community server.

Your help would be great.

PS: forget the phpinfo problem... I just thought that its depending on the
same problem and would help you in your search.

Hy server team,

I still have two big problems with the community server and need help.

*) phpinfo does not return all informations...
I ran http://sandbox.zend.com/~admin1/new.php as described within the wiki.
But I only got the first chapter (PHP internals... by "configuration -> PHP
core" the output is truncated... there is no more information about the
installed modules, the configuration and so on...)

I made a own file within var/www/html/test.php which only outputs the
phpinfo()... but this also failed... must be a permission problem for my
account as before...

just try this
http://weidner.zfdev.com/info.php

another file I created
http://weidner.zfdev.com/test.php
can be executed correct... (some date testing).
So php itself works but only partitial ???

"Warning.... No tests found in class "Zend_Date"

I have tried multiple combinations and variants...
but I am not able to do any unit tests...

The framework itself works properly as can be seen with the test.php file
mentioned above where I call
"require_once 'Zend/Date.php'" and its executed correct.

Anyone who can help me to get this thing working after 6 weeks ???

Hy,

I hope this one is the last... then all should work...
I am not able to run any unittest.

I can call phpunit. and it returns it's options.
But I am not able to run any tests... with all options I start phpunit, it
always returns "no tests within class xxx found".

Normally I change the path to

"Zend/tests"... and when being in the tests directory I call "phpunit
AllTests.php"...
Is there another way to do this within linux ?
Or is it just another "permission" problem ? ;-)

I hope you can help me.

PS: "Zend/library" is in the include-path of php.ini.

Sorry to bother you but there are still issues...

pear is running, but I am not able to install any package.

I am not able to update any channel or install phpunit...
The related bug is http://pear.php.net/bugs/bug.php?id=10847

I have not the permission to
"mkdir /tmp/pear/temp"
As described within the fix for this bug.

All I want to have is a Zend_Framework SVN installation with phpunit
installed to test the related linux issues...
Any other one who can help ?

I wanted to do this myself but I had no permission to delete the pear.conf
file wether in my telnet nor within the Web-Administrator interface.

Just tried it but failed due to pear.conf permission problem.
My account exists since 22.3. I think the crash was some days later.

Pear installation broken

Hy serverteam,

I have severe problems with pear on the community server.

It was not installed, so I had to try this myself.
I was not able to install it on "/usr" due to missing permissions.

Trying to install it into "/home/ACCOUNT". This worked only 1 time.
After I got it working and installed phpunit, pear was broken and did not
run anymore.

Now the the pear.conf file which was written by the configuration within
/etc was not broken.
I was not able to delete it due to missing permissions.
Nor was I able to edit it, to fix the failure.

Within the pear.conf file is only a php failure written instead of the conf
content.
So pear is not running due to missing configuration.

I tried to uninstall it but this was not possible due to missing
permissions.
I tried to install it once again to get it repaired, but this was also not
possible due to missing permissions...

At last phpunit is running after I changed php.ini to allow argc/argv.
But I am not able to install Xdebug due to missing pear.
And phpunit writes that it can not find AllTests.php which is in the same
directory where I called phpunit...

Summary:
I spent several hours since the last 2 weeks and it does not work.
So I am not able to fix the issues which are related to linux.

It would be nice if someone with "permissions" can fix the problems...
otherwise I would have to leave the related issues unfixed until someone can
help me out with this.

For now the sandbox is quite useless to help me fixing the linux related ZF
issues, because the
problems do not show up in cygwin nor in my vmware... but they should show
up in the sandbox.

PHPUnit Problems

Hy fellows...

after almost 2 weeks I got phpunit running.
Just a few things you should be aware of:

The sandbox docu is false:
http://framework.zend.com/wiki/display/ZFDEV/Sandbox
The php.ini file is not in the mentioned path. Its in /etc/

The php.ini file is missing register_argc_argv = On
in order to get phpunit running as the called php file is not the CLI
variant when you call "phpunit".

Maybe some of you are in need of this information and have not to search as
long as myself to get it working.

slowly I get it running... but there is still one failure I was not able to
fix until now.
I installed phpunit but whenever I call it I get an PHP failure.

I had no permission for standard installation to /usr
So I had to change this to /home/USER
