an iSight webcam not work under Suse 10 "Warning: could not find a Digital Camera on the bus."

version on Suse 10.
I installed   version Coriander 1.0.1-8 and that has   functioned???
Our association organizes conferences to ensure the promotion of Linux and we
had a request for several schools for the development  e-teaching, e-learning  
for the handicapped and sick children.
Considering we do not arrive to adapt this Isight to the level of image and of
the SOUND, the project is compromised considering miss support.
This is a company which develops on Windows who will once again have gained.

I can understand some french but that article did not help too much
because the author did not run into the same problems I did. I know
iSight CAN work with Linux but I just can't figure out why it doesn't
work under FC5 on my computer. I'm hoping somebody can give some tips on
how to figure out what is wrong. For instance, is it possible that my
Firewire controller is not supported and that's why coriander can find
the iSight on the bus? If so, how do I check that?

If your controller is not supported coriander will report an error
concerning the interface card. If the interface is found but not the
camera then a warning about cameras is shown. You're in the second case.

Argh. This looks bad. Is your camera working with another computer?
(testing with a mac would be great). It seems that the camera may be
broken.

I lent the camera to a co-worker with a MacBook and she said the camera
worked fine (using OS X). Any ideas on what the next step would be?

It appears to be a low-level problem, maybe somewhere in the kernel
drivers or in your interface card. It could be gscanbus too. Anyway,
it's not in libdc or coriander. I suggest that you summarise the
situation and post that on linux1394-user@.... You will need
your kernel and 1394 drivers version, among others.

It would be interesting to try the camera again in the Macbook (the cam
may have died in the meantime) or another PC (running linux or windows).
