any ideas on how to resolve OSM map offset seen after ubuntu upgrade

Hello all
I successfully had GPS drive and osm (Via mapnik mode)
running on Ubuntu 8.10 (IBeX). Recently I decided to let the
package manager upgrade to 9.04 (Jaunty).
Everything seems to work, but OSM maps in mapnik mode show
gps position about 10 miles south of actual location. Prior
to upgrading it was correct. I suspect it is some
configuration somewhere, but have no idea where to look? Any
ideas?
Tink
