unless i'm mistaken, you are only allowed one attack per turn, so for example lets say you attack with rip tide using a water attack critter, it deals the 10 damage and lowers the opponents courage by 25 till the end of the turn............well now, if you could follow it with a second attack that has a challenge using courage that would make sense, but that doesn't seem to be the case, and maybe i'm missing something, but to me it seems you would do the damage, maybe follow up with a mugic but it doesn't look (so far) that those have challenges on them and then the effect would end when you end your turn........so where is the advantage to that?.................unless it means that the skill decrease remains for both players turns, but it doesn't sound like that either..............anyways.........any insight is appreciated, thanks.

Well, you see, the confusion appears to stem from the use of the term "turn." The attack cards aren't referring to a player's turn during the battle, but rather the turn of the player who started a battle. It might be easier to explain it this way:

1) It's the start of your turn. You flip up a Location card, choose which creature you want to attack and which one you want to attack with.

2) Battle ensues.

3) After the battle, you have the option to move other creatures of yours to empty spaces. After that, your turn ends, and this is where the temporary stat decreases would end. Then it would be your opponent's turn.

So you see, since battles are always entirely within a player's turn, technically the status effects last for the entire battle. So, you play a card like Rip Tide, which would then limit your opponent's ability to play cards that stat check or challenge Courage for the rest of the battle.

thanks.............thats the way I would assume it would have worked........just the wording on the card didn't really imply that ;)
