Hi, I"m having real problems just getting started. An entire day of installing uninstalling searching FAQs, lists, docs etc. I'm finding no answers. Here is what is happening. I'm running Vista Ultimate IIS 7 trying to install the latest ms4w. I already have Q-GIS, UDig, PostgreSQL and Post GIS running.
I've followed the readme instructions and extracted everything to my root "c" drive. I see my local host on port 8080 with Map Server for Windows Version 2.3.1. When I get the applications such as geomoose, itasca, mapbender etc. I extract to the root folder and I get new files in the httpd.d folder as described. When I restart Apache (I already followed the note to Vista users) it says its already started. When I stop Apache and restart and then go to my local host, I should see the new applications right? Well I don't.
What is going on?
Also, when I try following the setup for IIS, it is for IIS 5 and the descriptions don't make sense. What do you mean by Web Site Tab
* set the IP address and under the Advanced tab put the complete Host Header name (e.g.msprojects.gc.ca).
If I'm running on a local host I can't use a domain so what am I supposed to put there?
I saw some other IIS 6 instructions from another user but they didn't work either.
I got so annoyed I tried GeoServer, but that thing didn't work either. I guess I just need to go back to ArcGIS Server.
