Yesterday I mentioned a Toronto Life article about the ROM while we were
chatting in group 8 and I promised I'd pass on a link.
It is an opinion article, with much "gossipy" commentary, but still
interesting:

regarding the museum as a "theme park". The quote at the bottom of the
9th page
“He (William Thorsell, the ROM's director) does not believe in a dynamic
interaction between the visitor and the display. So displays are art
museum displays; they’re at a distance from the viewer.”
This quote was something that struck me considering the discussions we
were having in our brainstorming activites.
