artifactoryDear, I’ve got some problems with artifactory. My Hudson
builds are failing because there is a transfer error with artifactory. I see
the errors in artifactory even when it just starts up, and does nothing. Error log in attachment. The version I use is 2.0.6 + 1985 fixed. I don’t see
any other bugs fixed in 2.0.7 which could have an impact on this problem, so I
haven’t tried upgrading yet. (it’s a production system, so
upgrading is not that easy..) Any idea what could cause this? Need any more information? Regards, Jeroen

Re: artifactoryJeroen,
Actually this looks very much related to a set of fixes we did around http://issues.jfrog.org/jira/browse/RTFACT-1960, and should be resolved in 2.0.7. Please allow the Artifactory garbage collector to run at least twice before checking on the error again (by default it runs every hour). Re: artifactoryEven if you deleted the index folder, it should not break things permanently, so unless there were external changes to your MySQL instance, everything should still be fine. Just make sure you do the index removal while Artifactory is *down* and then allow it to rebuild the index upon restart - it will delay the startup process until finished. So, you can do this again: stop Artifactory, move away the index directory, restart Artifactory and let it finish the startup process - it make take some time to complete the startup.
If you are still getting errors, try starting with -Dartifactory.jcr.fixConsistency=true - don't leave this on as a permanent option, as it slows down the startup process. Yoav On Fri, Aug 14, 2009 at 3:28 PM, Jeroen De Vries <Jeroen.Devries@...> wrote:

Re: artifactoryI somehow managed to break it anyway… [root@lsvm008 ~]# service artifactory stop Shutting down Jetty: 14804 Session terminated, killing shell... ...killed. [root@lsvm008 ~]# rm -Rf /usr/local/artifactory/data/index [root@lsvm008 ~]# service artifactory start Solved nothing. But the fixConsistency did. Thanks a lot for it!

Re: artifactoryAfter I removed that indexes, and started it with the fixConsistency,
things worked again, but it still gave errors. Today I had a little more time to look at it. Because of the
persisting errors I tried removing the index again (while artifactory was
down), and boot it again. This solved nothing, so I shut down artifactory
again, removed the index folder, en booted with fixconsistency. è JAVA_OPTIONS="$JAVA_OPTIONS
-Djetty.home=$ARTIFACTORY_HOME -Dartifactory.home=$ARTIFACTORY_HOME
-Dartifactory.jcr.fixConsistency=true" in my artifactory_home/bin/artifactory.sh After another regular artifactory reboot (without removing any
indexes) I still get a lot of error: 2009-08-19 08:44:03,168 [WARN ]

[mailto:ylandman@...] Even if you deleted the index folder, it should not break
things permanently, so unless there were external changes to your MySQL
instance, everything should still be fine. Just make sure you do the index
removal while Artifactory is *down* and then allow it to rebuild the index upon
restart - it will delay the startup process until finished. So, you can do this
again: stop Artifactory, move away the index directory, restart Artifactory and
let it finish the startup process - it make take some time to complete the
startup. Yoav On Fri, Aug 14, 2009 at 3:28 PM, Jeroen De Vries <Jeroen.Devries@...>

Re: artifactoryHi, we will investigate this error and will provide a fix if needed.
You can track the issue at
http://issues.jfrog.org/jira/browse/RTFACT-2061. Yossi From: Jeroen De Vries <Jeroen.Devries@...> To: "artifactory-users@..." <artifactory-users@...> Sent: Wednesday, August 19, 2009 10:13:42 AM Subject: Re: [Artifactory-users] artifactory After I removed that indexes, and started it with the fixConsistency, things worked again, but it still gave errors. Today I had a little more time to look at it. Because of the persisting errors I tried removing the index again (while artifactory was down), and boot it again. This solved nothing, so I shut down artifactory again, removed the index folder, en booted with fixconsistency. è JAVA_OPTIONS="$JAVA_OPTIONS -Djetty.home=$ARTIFACTORY_HOME -Dartifactory.home=$ARTIFACTORY_HOME -Dartifactory.jcr.fixConsistency=true" in my artifactory_home/bin/artifactory.sh After another regular artifactory reboot (without removing any indexes) I still get a lot of error: 2009-08-19 08:44:03,168 [WARN ] (o.a.j.j.ArtifactoryDbDataStoreImpl:694) - Can not read identifier 439df5d047fa1a6f0096462db4bc72bd7a698120: Record not found: 439df5d047fa1a6f0096462db4bc72bd7a698120 2009-08-19 08:44:03,169 [WARN ] (o.a.j.c.v.BLOBInDataStore:94) - getLength for 439df5d047fa1a6f0096462db4bc72bd7a698120 failed org.artifactory.jcr.jackrabbit.DataStoreRecordNotFoundException: Record not found: 439df5d047fa1a6f0096462db4bc72bd7a698120 at org.artifactory.jcr.jackrabbit. Method.invoke(Method.java:585) [na:1.5.0_07] at org.springframework.aop.support.AopUtils.invokeJoinpointUsingReflection(AopUtils.java:310) [spring-aop-2.5.5.jar:2.5.5] at org.springframework.aop.framework.ReflectiveMethodInvocation.invokeJoinpoint(ReflectiveMethodInvocation.java:182) [spring-aop-2.5.5.jar:2.5.5] at org.springframework.aop.framework.ReflectiveMethodInvocation.proceed(ReflectiveMethodInvocation.java:149) [spring-aop-2.5.5.jar:2.5.5] at org.springframework.transaction.interceptor.TransactionInterceptor.invoke(TransactionInterceptor.java:106) [spring-tx-2.5.5.jar:2.5.5] at org.springframework.aop.framework.ReflectiveMethodInvocation.proceed(ReflectiveMethodInvocation.java:171) [spring-aop-2.5.5.jar:2.5.5] at org.springframework.aop.framework.JdkDynamicAopProxy.invoke(JdkDynamicAopProxy.java:204) [spring-aop-2.5.5.jar:2.5.5] at $Proxy37.garbageCollect(Unknown Source) [na:na] at org.artifactory.jcr.schedule.JcrGarbageCollector.onExecute(JcrGarbageCollector.java:37) [artifactory-core-2.0.7.jar:na] at org.artifactory.jcr.schedule.JcrGarbageCollector.onExecute(JcrGarbageCollector.java:30) [artifactory-core-2.0.7.jar:na] at org.artifactory.schedule.quartz.QuartzCommand.execute(QuartzCommand.java:42) [artifactory-core-2.0.7.jar:na] at org.quartz.core.JobRunShell.run(JobRunShell.java:202) [quartz-1.6.3.jar:1.6.3] at java.util.concurrent.
Any idea? I’m seriously considering to reinstall artifactory, as it just won’t work correctly in the current setup. I only fear that that won’t really help.

Even if you deleted the index folder, it should not break
things permanently, so unless there were external changes to your MySQL
instance, everything should still be fine. Just make sure you do the index
removal while Artifactory is *down* and then allow it to rebuild the index upon
restart - it will delay the startup process until finished. So, you can do this
again: stop Artifactory, move away the index directory, restart Artifactory and
let it finish the startup process - it make take some time to complete the
startup. Yoav On Fri, Aug 14, 2009 at 3:28 PM, Jeroen De Vries <Jeroen.Devries@...> wrote: Hey Yoav,

I’ve got some problems with artifactory. My Hudson builds are failing because there is a transfer error with artifactory. I see the errors in artifactory even when it just starts up, and does nothing. Error log in attachment. The version I use is 2.0.6 + 1985 fixed. I don’t see any other bugs fixed in 2.0.7 which could have an impact on this problem, so I haven’t tried upgrading yet. (it’s a production system, so upgrading is not that easy..) Any idea what could cause this? Need any more information?
