automatic activation of passwords (Ref: MAGNOLIA-1355)

Hey all,

 

Any idea if MAGNOLIA-1355: “Changing the password of the current user does not allow activation” will be re-looked at soon?

 

I’ve got a problem where a client requires users/authors that only has access to the Website and DMS repositories. Currently they can change their password through the user detail popup (clicking their username); however, they can’t activate their password from here, and therefore they can’t activate anything else from then on, or until someone else with the appropriate access can activate that user.

 

MAGNOLIA-1355 discusses a couple of options which would suit my needs, but it hasn’t been updated since Nov 08. Are there any other alternatives, such as scheduling, that someone has used successfully to automatically activate a user’s password?
