automatic clutch and "grinding the ribs"

Can anyone tell me what "grinding the ribs" is and about it would cost? I want to order an auto clutch for my virago 920cc, but was told I may have to grind the rib.

I think they are talking about the ribs on the clutch cage. If so, it's a milling job and will require removing it from the bike and milling it to the specs required by the manufacturer of the clutch kit. Automatic Clutch for a Virago? Who's the manufacturer? You would need to follow the manufacturer's instructions for installation.
