baby microphone has two leads and SMT component

I removed the cover on a microphone for a bluetooth headset.
( IOGEAR GBMHkit )

you can see to images at
http://oh-god.com:5080/dir/microphone/
( imaged using a MacBook built-in camera with magnifying lens  
magnetically attached in front of the camera )

There is a small SMT component between the two leads.
What might this be ?  What kind of mic is this likely to be ?

Looks like a ceramic capacitor.

Probably an electret mike like these ones:

Looks like a cap to me...possibly one of the Johansson XY devices, used for electrostatic discharges

A cap.

Pretty much ALL mics out there in consumer electronics are electret.
Some of the only exceptions I've seen are things like mics for
Rockband/Guitar Hero.
