basicsHi, Just getting to know FarCry 5.02 and making my way (slowly) through the Jump Start doc. Some very basic questions here, that it would be great if someone could help me with - or refer me to some doc(s). * I created some site structure using the quick site build, and that works ok, but when I create a navigation element (with a page) under the root I get a little folder icon with an arrow on it - what does that signify? * Also - when I create a navigation element with a page like above - I can see the link appearing as a tab on the website, but the link turns out like objectid=, * I have added (and approved) an image to the image library, but when I click on the "farcy icon" in the rich text editor, everything is empty. Thanks! Cheers, Hugo --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "farcry-user" group. Re: basicsHi Hugo,
To answer your questions in order: 1) By default, when you first create a navigation or html page, that item is in draft mode. Additionally, most different types you can create in the site tree have different icons. So the navigation shows up as a folder, the html page as a tiny little white rectangle with i think a corner bent. Both have a draft icon overlai.d
2) For the link to turn out nice (something like /go/about-us) instead of (objectid=XXXX), you need to have friendlyurl's turned on. See information from FC4 (most of the actions stay the same, the layout might have changed)
http://docs.farcrycms.org/display/FCUSER40/Manage+Friendly+URLs (not very thorough) http://docs.farcrycms.org/display/FCDEV40/Friendly+URL+Management (developer info) http://docs.farcrycms.org/display/FCDEV50/Friendly+URL+Refactoring (Info for how things will change in 5.1) 3) Check out the following docs, the layout might be slightly different but the idea is the same. In general, FarCry 4 has many of the same functions and uses, so you can always check out those docs by going to docs.farcrycms.org. To submit a bug for FarCry (or if you're wondering if a problem you're seeing is a bug) go to bugs.farcrycms.org.
Hope that helps! Tomek On Tue, Dec 2, 2008 at 3:21 AM, fraxinus@... <fraxinus@...> wrote:

Re: basicsTomek, I have been experimenting with FC running on OpenBD - and I am seeing way too many problems now when I compare it with CFMX that I just installed instead. Most of these issues are related to OpenBD. In my opinion Farcry is NOT ready on OpenBD yet (or the opposite!). | 1) By default, when you first create a navigation or html | page, that item is in draft mode. Re: basicsHugo,
This gives some more info on OpenBD & FC compatability: http://groups.google.com/group/farcry-dev/browse_thread/thread/fb59bd5819c92c5/c00b57712cf3609f?lnk=gst&q=openbd#c00b57712cf3609f
For issues relating to integrating something like OpenBD, I recomend the farcry-dev list. Best, Tomek
