broken hibernation (platform vs shutdown)Hi,
It seems that a number of laptops are bitten by the regression https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/226069 and have hibernation broken in Hardy: The laptop doesn't turn off power, but reboots or crashes. The bug hasn't got any developer love yet, but the cause is identified and there's a workaround:The shutdown mode used to default to "shutdown" but is hardcoded to "platform" in Hardy. I would expect this to affect quite a number of laptops. Especially Acer laptops are mentioned, but please post a comment if you have this issue with another brand. If this really is widespread issue, we should get the bug triaged and milestoned. Re: broken hibernation (platform vs shutdown)Hi,
I have the same problem on my Lenovo N200 and it's catastrophic! I was not able to hibernate the machine in any of the ubuntu releases. Hope this attracts some attention, Saeed
