Hello,

I don't seem to be able to copy anything in font forge.

None of the variations of copy/cut i have tried puts anything in the clipboard (neither the X11 or aqua clipboards)

any ideas?

I am a newbie with FontForge and I ran into exactly the same problem on Mac OS X 10.5.  Did you get your problem resolved, Mathew?  If not, does anyone have a suggestion for Mathew and me?

Well, since updating to OS X.5.8, it works some of the time. I don't seem to have the X11 clipboard preference that someone was referring to.

Um, yes there are many suggestions on the list.

Basically the problem is a bug in the version of X11 released by Apple.
It has nothing to do with fontforge. Apple later fixed this. Easiest
solution is to upgrade.

Either get Snow Leopard (10.6).
Or if you like 10.5 then go to the developer site and download the most
recent copy of developer tools (for 10.5).
  http://developer.apple.com/mac/
(you must register with apple, but it's free).

Thanks for the suggestion list!  I'll try upgrading X11 when I get home tonight.

Maybe it also comes with XQuartz, the X11 version from Mac OS forge?
Many people recommend that version over the default version delivered
with Leopard (e.g. the Gimp for Mac distribution). I have that
"pasteboard"-preference, but I don't know where I got it from. I use
XQuartz, I update Leopard regularly, and I have downloaded the
developer-tools, so its from one of those three sources :) With all
three of these I can't copy/paste within in fontforge if I have X11
pasteboard-synching enabled...

You have to build from cvs to get that.

You're right, Ranier - it does come with XQuartz.  I updated my X11 installation from the package at XQuartz, and I can now copy and paste.  My previous X11 version was 2.1.6, now it's 2.4.0.
