Hi,

I could not connect with a Moto Q11 (windows mobile 6.1), someone could?

I have a debian lenny, and I tried many versions of synce, the apt version, the sources version and now I am using the svn version of these packages: librapi2,  libsynce,  odccm,  usb-rndis-lite.

Thanks for any help,
Max

PS: Below comes some command outputs

Thanks Mark

Do you have a firewall ? Run iptables -L to check.

In the begin the firewall was really blocking the odccm packages, but I cleared the iptables rules and the problem persists

You might want to try
synce-hal instead of odccm as well.

Is there any tutorial to synce-hal? What packages I have to install? Is it a daemon?

Well, of course that I still will try to install it but now I'm going to work.

Mark

It's a hal addon that launches a daemon when it is needed, you dont need
to set up anything.

Put the following in the file /etc/synce-hal.conf

[general]
loglevel: debug

and you might get some useful output in that file.

Well, I was using like the example said to do

-------------------------
# example config file, to use copy to /usr/local/etc/synce-hal.conf

[general]

# global logging level, can be debug, info, warning, error, critical
loglevel: debug
-------------------------

But now I saw, it does not matter if the file is in /etc/ or in /usr/local/etc, or if the option is "debug", "warning" or "critical" the output in the daemon.log is always the same.

Of course, there is something wrong, and I did not  found it. Could be a conflict with all versions that I had tried?

Ah, did you install synce-hal in /usr/local ?

I changed nothing, and yes the default is /usr/local
-------------------------
~/installs/synce-hal-0.14$ ./configure --help
Defaults for the options are specified in brackets.
Installation directories:
--prefix=PREFIX         install architecture-independent files in PREFIX
                          [/usr/local]
--exec-prefix=EPREFIX   install architecture-dependent files in EPREFIX
                          [PREFIX]

By default, `make install' will install all the files in
`/usr/local/bin', `/usr/local/lib' etc.  You can specify
an installation prefix other than `/usr/local' using `--prefix',
for instance `--prefix=$HOME'.

That won't work then, hal doesn't normally look in /usr/local. Either
put the whole thing in /usr, or move

/usr/local/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/10-synce.fdi
/usr/local/libexec/hal-synce-*

to the equivalent places in /usr, and confirm which files you moved in
the second location.

Ahhhh, YESSS

Thank you very much, Mark, now it's working

That won't work then, hal doesn't normally look in /usr/local. Either
put the whole thing in /usr, or move

/usr/local/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/10-synce.fdi

the second location.

Mark

The problem was here:
/usr/local/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/10-synce.fdi
I moved he to
/usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/10-synce.fdi

These file
/usr/local/libexec/hal-synce-*
was here (and I changed nothing)
# find /usr -name 'hal-synce-*'
/usr/lib/hal/scripts/hal-synce-serial
/usr/lib/hal/scripts/hal-synce-rndis

now, the "pls" work!!!

With this, we see that the compilation/instalation system have problems.
I didn't talk before, but I was thinking that it have problems.
The "./configure" and the "make" don't finish with common users 'cause permission problems. So I have to ran their with root.
But to put the file in a wrong place is a few worst :P.

Well, now I will learn more about synce and maybe I could help, at least, fixing the configure and Makefile files

Thanks again

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do. You're installing
in /usr/local, and hal doesn't look for its config files, the .fdi file,
in /usr/local.
