co-working/hacking time @ WhereCampThis was brought up on a separate thread, but that thread got a bit distracted.
I'd be keen to spend some time hacking on GeoRSS stuff, such as: - Fixing up the wiki - adding more examples, slides, etc - Making a GeoRSS Reader demo (I have one, but it just uses Gears for storing info on processed feeds, I'd like to port to App Engine) - Write a doc or make slides that demonstrate how GeoRSS + KML work can work together - Integrate Metacarta into GeoPress - Publish ActionScript open-source GeoRSS parsing library (I have this, just need to clean up) Anyway, those are just things on my to-do list. I'm sure you all have other things you want to get done. The WhereCamp schedule is here: http://wherecamp.pbworks.com/WhereCamp2009 We could hack on Friday night, during the day in some sessions, or get together on the Sunday after. Thoughts? - pamela _______________________________________________ georss mailing list georss@... http://lists.eogeo.org/mailman/listinfo/georss |

Re: co-working/hacking time @ WhereCampI'd be keen on helping support more hacking at WhereCamp in general -
if there's anything I can do to help facilitate or encourage this - I'm very interested in doing so. The specifics you list here are ideal candidates for an agile process; where you sit down with a few people who may be technical or non-technical, you make a list of tasks on little cards, divvy them up, go for a 45 minute sprint, then loop back and talk about what you did and then do it again. There are several non-technical goals such as fixing the wiki and the like that anybody could do and people love to contribute if it isn't too hard. But any agreement to sit down together and hack is probably fine. Having us all in one place is a good time for it for sure. - anselm ( co-chairing wherecamp ) On Thu, Apr 30, 2009 at 6:19 PM, pamela fox <pamela.fox@...> wrote: > This was brought up on a separate thread, but that thread got a bit distracted. > > I'd be keen to spend some time hacking on GeoRSS stuff, such as: > - Fixing up the wiki - adding more examples, slides, etc > - Making a GeoRSS Reader demo (I have one, but it just uses Gears for > storing info on processed feeds, I'd like to port to App Engine) > - Write a doc or make slides that demonstrate how GeoRSS + KML work > can work together > - Integrate Metacarta into GeoPress > - Publish ActionScript open-source GeoRSS parsing library (I have > this, just need to clean up) > > Anyway, those are just things on my to-do list. Re: co-working/hacking time @ WhereCampI have to get out of the south bay by 3pm Friday. Can we do the GeoRSS
hacking on Thursday evening? How about 7pm then go out to dinner? --- Raj On Apr 30, at 9:19 PM, pamela fox wrote: > This was brought up on a separate thread, but that thread got a bit > distracted. Re: co-working/hacking time @ WhereCampI'll re-open this thread once we're at WhereCamp and know what the
schedule is looking like. Perhaps we'll have a GeoRSS session on first day to discuss the current state?
