hello
i am trying to simulate the compact tension test ( fracture mechanics approach) and get the value of  J-integral from it but its always gives error of type :

Error in job Job-9: Triangles, Tetrahedra and wedges may not be used in a contour integral region. 37 elements are within a contour region. The elements are identified in element set ErrElemIncorrContInteg.
i changed the mesh element and tried it nearly with all relevant elements but not able to get the analysis.anybody having any idea or have the input file of it pls share. It will be a great help.
thank you

'coords' variable within umat differs from the values printed out in .odb,.fil

Hi all,
Working with a umat subroutine and debugging its operation, I have found different values at the end of each increment for the 'coords' variable (current integration point coordinates) between the results shown by the debugger and those stored in the .odb and .fil files. I have checked the 'coords' variable within my umat subroutine at the end of each increment, in the last equilibrium iteration, that is, once convergence has been obtained, hoping to get the same values than those printed out in .odb or .fil file. Does anyone know why those small differences in value appear for 'coords' variable? Any comment would be welcome. Thanks in advance,
Diego.

Hi, According to me while define the control for the mesh, You should use
the
following:

Quad-Dominated with sweep technique for the small region near the crack
tip and quad with free control for the other region. and select the plane
strain elements for all the region.

plz send the detail. i can definitely help you if you send
