connection establishment between manager and agent of SNMP

when the ecos code(running perfectly on the board) is ported to linux the connection establishment between manager and agent  is getting failed...and the snmp daemon is running continuously.......what might be the reason..?if any one knows anything about it please do reply..thank you..
