cornering

my 250 is crap at cornering, i have to slow right down all the time expecting the tailgaters to run into me.  not like my old SR125 which took the bends really well.  i´ve got my heart set on a 535 for next year, i´ve heard they take corners quite good.  how can this be true?  if not, is there a cruiser that can?
