couldn't find a reading command for the driver

Hi, I have this 2001 VIRGIN GREECE cd, which claims to "INCORPORATE ANTI-COPY TECHNOLOGY" (and that it) "WILL NOT PLAY ON A PC"; yet it used to play no-problem on our ancient late PC. Unfortunately I didn't copy it there to make files I could USB to my new labtop, which won't play (or copy) it in any way; WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER and NERO will appear to recognize the tracks, yet will not play or rip them; a computer-freak friend suggested EAC, which seems to recognize the tracks (as well as the non-track, "anti-copy" material), yet when I try to copy I get "couldn't find a reading command for the driver" (on which driver, however, EAC has no problem with other cd's, which I tried just to be sure); the "auto detect" yields nothing, as well as the manually trying all the given options.
I then googled for any helping software, and I got some demos and trials and not-full versions of various programs, some of which would rip some or all the tracks, but the resulting files would either not play at all, appear to play but have no sound, or play a noise. Any suggestions?

PS The only one which helped a little bit was ISOBUSTER, which didn't create any usable files, yet recognized that the cd had 3 sessions, all tracks in session 1. If this information helps and means anything, all tracks in the ISOBUSTER box session 1, except for the first one, appear with a red X next to them; also, EAC (and some of the other programs), though unable to create any files or any usable files, read correctly the track duration; some read correctly all durations except for the first track

You could try disabling Autorun on your drive. Some CD-protection software
seems to depend on executing files as soon as you insert the disc.

I suggest a valid and final (tested many times) solution.
I admit it's a little "strange" and time-consuming procedure, but it
works.
You have to cover with a water based marker the outer part of the CD, in
order to make readable session one only.
It's very simple when session 2 and 3 are separated by a visible ring on
Cd.
If not, you have try until you reach perfect situation: session 1
COMPLETELY readable, but other session not.
After ripping, wash away the marker trace with soft cloth wet with
alcohol.
