Hi all,
I think that I miss somthing *very* obvious, but I am lost.
I want to extract profiles with equidistant positions from grd-files
following tracks with given start, middle (points of changing
direction), and end points.
I have files containing the profile lines - the points are not
equidistant but let's call them supporting points:
===> snip =====
lon_s lat_s
lon_1 lat_1
lon_2 lat_2
....
lon_e lat_e
===< snap =====
Is it right that I have to create the profiles one leg by the other
using (for example)
project -Clon_1/lat_2 -Elon_2/lat_2 -N -G10 -Q
concatenate the output, adding the distances along track using awk
(or whats-o-ever) and then use grdtrack? Or is there an easier way -
just use the above mentioned file(s) and ... grdtrack...?
I read the manual pages, searched the archives but could not find a
solution.
Again, please excuse me if I missed the obvious thing...
Best regards,
Stephan
