Hello!
As list manager and a few other functions for this list I am exercising my
options. This thread is closed.

And it is because DB2 is an excellent application but it won't run on
MVS3.8J because it is too new for an OS who's not an appropriate match.
(There are other applicable terms Mike, Phil, and everyone else but I'm not
about to shock everyone.)

If you feel you want to run a database program on your installed arrangement
of MVS3.8J then please feel free to ask us what will perform the same
reasonably close functions on MVS3.8J.

If you have succeeded in getting what you run at work to run under Hercules,
which is great to hear about, but not possible at this moment in this
country, then feel free to pursue it in your free time and then report your
progress.

Not possible since DB2 requires resources that MVS 3.8 can't do and
IBM certainly won't change it to accommodate an OS that is no longer
supported.  So, hopefully others will see this and stop asking.

Now, why can't you?  Error message(s)? What address is your session
trying   to connect to? Application trying to connect to?  Without it we
can only guess...  If you are trying to connect to TSO, you need to use
a 3270 emulator.  If for a MVS console, a 3270 emulator or a telnet session.

Since you switched topics, please change the subject line.
