Hi,

I wonder what date exactly is the deadline for the 2.6.0 update.
According to the last announcement, the due date should be around
these couple of days, but Traditional Chinese will need a few more
days. Thanks.

By my count, the original deadline would be tomorrow evening in US EDT
(Wednesday).  That said, if you need a few more days, I'm willing to let the
deadline slide.  We had originally discussed a 21-day string freeze, but I
announced it as 16 days in the hopes that it wouldn't be a problem.  How much
longer do you need?  Will extending the deadline until Saturday be enough time,
or will you need to go to Monday or beyond?  (This isn't a problem, I'm just
curious how much more time you need.)

John

Extending the deadline to Monday evening ET would be appreciated.
Thanks very much in advance.

Per translator request, we need to extend the string freeze period until at
least Monday.  Please adjust any plans accordingly.

Eastern Daylight Time (currently GMT-0400), yes.  However, we're not making a
hard deadline tonight.  We have a few things we need to finish before release
that don't involve any stirng changes, so the release is on hold for the time
being.  It will be a minimum of a week from now (as some issues that need
attention prior to release have appeared); string freeze will continue.

FYI we'll be releasing 2.6.0 on Tuesday, August 18th.
