This is a general warning to those using Debian Squeeze, and Debian Sid.

Debian Etch and Debian Lenny users are NOT affected.

The IANA port allocated for ManageSieve is 4190/tcp, and the old port used
by timsieved and other managesieve software in many distros (2000/tcp) is
allocated for Cisco SCCP usage, according to the IANA registry[1].

Starting with the version 4.38 of the Debian "netbase" package, the "sieve"
service will be moved from port 2000 to port 4190 in the /etc/services file.

Any installs which used the "sieve" service name instead of a numeric port
number will switch to the new port number as soon as the services are
restarted/reloaded, and in some cases, immediately after /etc/services is
updated.

This will affect Cyrus IMAP. This may also affect other sieve-enabled
software such as DoveCot.

In order to avoid downtime problems, mail cluster administrators using
Debian are urged to verify their Cyrus (and probably also DoveCot) installs,
and take measures to avoid services moving from port 2000/tcp to port
4190/tcp by surprise in either servers or clients.

It is worth noting that:

1. /etc/services will only be automatically updated if you never made any
modifications to it. Otherwise, you will be presented with a prompt by ucf
or dpkg asking you about the changes.

2. You can edit /etc/services and change the sieve port back to 2000 if you
want (this is not recommended, though).

3. You can edit /etc/cyrus.conf and any other relevant config files for your
mail/webmail cluster (e.g. on the sieve web frontends) ahead of time to
force them all to a static port number.

4. You can configure cyrus master to listen on *both* ports (2000 and 4190)
at the same time, and thus avoid the problem entirely. This also allows for
a much more smooth migration from port 2000 to port 4190.

Bug#559961: Cryptoloop support has been dropped from the Squeeze kernel

Though there are two FTBFS bugs on debian-refcard [0], this doesn't explains
this.

Indeed: 'make publish' is used to generate output from ddp-svn, but root
Makefile of ddp-svn doesn't include refcard [1], and refcard makefile
doesn't have any publish target [2].
So refcard may be published from the archive package, but nothing in the
specific cron part that extract data from the package. [3]

in Debian website. However, the page will be expired because
I retired Debian. I moved my pages to different place.
Could you someone help me modifying the link in the document?

Now I see Karl's point. This may be what happens with an outdated document.
Debian is moving target.

I agree that this is incorrect at least for archive after we introduced pool
system. (This may have been correct long time before when we did not have pool
and moved package to release name based repository. I do not
remember...)

Current man page of apt-ftparchive states:

apt-ftparchive - Utility to generate index files
...
apt-ftparchive is the command line tool that generates the index files
that APT uses to access a distribution source. The index files should
be generated on the origin site based on the content of that site.

There are no /move/ mentioned :-)

I just put small notice at problematic location only now. But this
document is quite prominent at:

As I read Aaron's document, this is pre-secureAPT and linked to

Bug#559453: only limited security support for ocsinventory-server and sql-ledger

Hi

Please indicate that the packages ocsinventory-server and sql-ledger
only receive limited security support, because they should only be used
behind authenticated HTTP zones. For sql-ledger, this is true for etch,
lenny and squeeze and for ocsinventory-server this affects lenny and
squeeze. A note just like for the mozilla stuff should suffice.

It is used to generate packages/sources/contents lists only.
It does not /move/.

Soooo... does apt-ftparchive move packages?

Perhaps I'm not reading its documentation correctly (in which case I'd
have to hack up a patch for that instead of continuing here :)).

Not on default instalation, I guess. But Debian hosted machines have
this indicating that most DDs use this to host their package. So at
least this package is best maintained albeit capability is limited.

I think apt-ftparchive is right tool but this documentation is to blame.
The apt-ftparchive command is used in our archive as I understand.

All other tools are for convienience tools for regular users and YMMV.

Hi,

The kernel now doesn't contain a number of firmware pieces anymore which may
be essential to get the system in a workable state after reboot.
Unfortunately this was missed in the release notes. The following patch adds
a note which refers people to the relevant section of the installation manual
that explains it better.

I hope it can be applied quickly, sorry for not catching this earlier.

The patch could be extended to include a list of such removed firmwares if
someone has it available, but just this mention could already save a
significant number of problems.

While only necessary builds are triggered, the publish target in lenny
release-notes causes all files to be overwritten again in the target
dir.

As a consequence, it causes all related files to be transfered again and
again by all webmirrors every 6 hours.

find /srv/www.debian.org/release-notes/lenny -mtime -1 | du -sch
878M total

Setting OFFICIALWEBBUILD=true actually fix the problem, by preserving
timestamps of the original files :
find /srv/www.debian.org/release-notes/lenny -mtime -1 | du -sch
148K total

Enquadramento
O SNC – Sistema de Normalização Contabilística, apresentado publicamente pelo Ministério das Finanças e da Administração Pública em 23 de Abril de 2009, destina-se a substituir o POC e legislação complementar, assentando no modelo IASB – International Accounting Standards Board, adoptado na UE.
O referencial contabilístico português evoluiu num sentido de forte aproximação às IAS / IFRS.
A partir de 2010, todas as entidades às quais se tem vindo a aplicar o POC, estão já confrontadas com a necessidade absoluta de aplicar o novo referencial constituído pelo Sistema de Normalização Contabilística.
Objectivos
No final deste cursos os formandos serão capazes de:
- Conhecer o conteúdo, âmbito e vinculação do Sistema de Normalização Contabilística (SNC) que irá substituir o POC
- Conhecer a estrutura geral de princípios e regras de base técnica em que assenta o SNC
- Conhecer a nomenclatura e a terminologia que será adoptada
