Bug#559447: gnat-4.4: extends keyword in project files seems to be broken

extends key word in gnat projects seems to have problems when
including other projects files.
A test case is joined to this bug report :
proj.gpr with xmlada.gpr
so input_sources.{ads|adb|ali|o} are known
proj_bis.gpr do a with of proj.gpr
so input_sources.{ads|adb|ali|o} are known
proj_ter.gpr extends proj.gpr
so input_sources.{ads|adb|ali|o} should be known
which is the case with gnat gpl 2009 and not with gnat-4.4

This bug was found when trying to use projects file in polyorb/gnat-4.4
using extends. If the extends is removed then the code compile but then DSA
seems to be broken.

Hmm. The patch that _uncovered_ (not caused) the regression was
http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=8603

It was included in >4.3.4 (that is, not in 4.3.4), 4.4.2, and the 4.5
branch, so I don't think it could be 42113, but it certainly couldn't
hurt to test.

I'd be nice to know what this code is that triggers the error.

The bug is unreproducible here, on a machine similar to the buildds, but
with a more recent kernel (2.6.31).

I have just uploaded the package, so I guess this bug can be closed.

I want to build a kde 3.5 app which is not compatible with ac 2.64,
so I need to use 2.59.
I really should not have to patch the build scripts of the application
in invoke autoconf2.59, but use the alternatives mechanism.
For now, it is even impossible to remove autoconf (2.64) to have
only the 2.59 version:

Hello MIPS porters

Bug #558146 seems like a transient error to me. I looked for a mipsel
porter box to try and build gnat-4.4 on it but the only
developer-accessible machine, morales, is listed as down due to hardware
failure on http://db.debian.org/machines.cgi.

Could one of the porters please try to build the package on one of their
machines and then, if successful, upload to unstable? Alternatively grant
me remote access to such a machine?

I can still reproduce it, but have no time to investigate it. So let's

_m_pfsub. The compiler generates things like PFSUBR %MM0,%MM0.

The command line showing the problem is:

gcc -march=athlon -fverbose-asm -S -O3 main.c

Removing '-O3' from the command line generates correct, but not optimized,
code.

The problem is visible in both GCC 4.3.2 (Debian Lenny) and GCC 4.3.4-6
(Debian Squeeze).

Hi,

after this morning upgrade apt started to systematically segfault
on my hppa box, not even an update was allowed. i reported this on the
hppa porters list [0].

of course suspect no. 1 is the NPTL switch but downgrading eglibc to
2.10.1-3 or even -2 did not improve the situation. i also tried with
standard kernel 2.6.30-2-parisc-smp (at that moment i was running
2.6.32-rc5) but still nothing.

then i tried to rebuild apt with the latest stuff, just in case NPTL
switch introduced any compatibility issue but g++ died at least one
time during usual autoconf g++ usability tests.

finally i tried downgrading libstdc++6 to 4.4.2-1 and it looks like
the problem is gone. indeed this package was upgraded this morning.

in the meanwhile 2.6.32-rc6 had been built and booted nicely. i've
then been able to use apt again and re-upgraded eglibc to 2.10.1-5 and
everything still works.

upgrading g++-4.4 & related stuff back to 4.4.2-2 not only reintroduces
the problem but it does not even get past the whole process dying before
the end. downgrading to 4.4.2-1 settles everything again.

frankly i do not know what to do next, besides trying to rebuild gcc-4.4
4.4.2-1 with latest eglibc to see if it is the culprit or it is rather
the svn merge between gcc 4.4.2-1 and -2.

gcc-4.4 has been rebuilt against the new eglibc. It is available in the
version 4.4.2-3+b1, and I confirm it fixes the problem. It is now used
on the build daemons.
