debian on OpenRD ClientHi,
I have some problems installing debian on my OpenRD Client (A0) with an attached USB disk. Installing using the debian installer works quite god until late in the procedure where it hangs indefenitely. (In "setting up users" for example) There is one problem before this. I have to exit to shell and install and run ntpdate because there is som clock related problems on the board (revision A0) Any ideas what makes debian installer stop working? Is the USB disk the problem? The SD card does not seem to be a recognised installation option! Best regards Anders |

I installed on the OpenRD-Client a few weeks ago without any problems. > There is one problem before this. The SD card does not seem to be a recognised installation option! iirc SD is not initialized by the kernel yet. -- Martin Michlmayr http://www.cyrius.com/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-arm-REQUEST@... with a subject of "unsubscribe". Do you have an A0 as well?
Everytime I have started the box it's time is 1954 something. When running the Debian installer, some validation of the busybox package fails because of this. When Googling for the problem I found the solution was to exit to shell and install and run ntpdate

Re: debian on OpenRD ClientI solved this problem, having done the following changes to the procedure:
* After exit to shell and running ntpdate, I did not continue with unclean system. Instead I returned to the disk partitioning menu and re-formatted the root partition. * I fetched a new uImage and uInitrd dated 091028. * I made the swap partition into a primary partition. (The previous was a logical one as Ubuntu does by default) I would guess the first change in the list was the solution. Unfortunately I still have the clock problem. After reboot of the OpenRD client, with debian installed, the clock is back to 1954. Thanks Anders |

There are two problems: 1) SD on OpenRD doesn't work with the mainline kernel. Someone proposed patches and I just asked about the status: http://groups.google.com/group/openrd/browse_thread/thread/11d598c423f542f7 2) The default u-boot shipped with the OpenRD doesn't have SD support, but one that does was posted a few days ago: http://groups.google.com/group/openrd/browse_thread/thread/7e204d6c9087305e -- Martin Michlmayr http://www.cyrius.com/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-arm-REQUEST@... with a subject of "unsubscribe".
