For reference, what I did was:

nmu python-edbus_0.3.1+svn20090511-2 . ALL . -m 'Rebuild against libedbus-svn-05'
dw python-edbus_0.3.1+svn20090511-2 . ALL . -m 'libedbus-svn-05'

which will achieve the same result, as libedbus-svn-05 is only built
from the new source package.

Sorry, I just realized that the dep-wait expression should contain the binary package
name, not the source package. That would then be:

dw python-edbus_0.3.1+svn20090511-2 . ALL . -m 'libedbus-dev (>= 0.5.0.063-1)' -d unstable

Hello folks,

Xerces-C 3.1 was recently uploaded, and Xerces-C changes its namespace
with each release. This means that libraries built against 3.0 cannot
be mixed with libraries built with 3.1. I uncovered this when preparing
to upload a new xmltooling package built against 3.1, which resulted in
missing symbols from xml-security-c since it was built against 3.0.

Could you rebuild xml-security-c against Xerces-C 3.1? I'll then be
uploading new versions of all of the packages that depend on xml-security-c
(namely the Shibboleth stack), since they all have new upstream releases
anyway.

nmu xml-security-c_1.5.1-2 . ALL . -m "Rebuild against Xerces-C 3.1."

The packages need to be removed from unstable; the removal will then
propagate to testing.

Please file a bug against the ftp.debian.org pseudo-package to request
that. The subject should be the same as your mail to -release, but with
the "/testing" removed.

[SRM] Update of clock-setup for D-I

Hi,

I've just uploaded an update of clock-setup (0.97lenny1) with a workaround
for a bug in rdate (see changelog for bug numbers).

On some systems, when the hardware clock is not set, the system will boot
with a system date before the epoch (1-1-1970). In those cases rdate fails
to update the system date/time to the time obtained from an NTP server.

A so hugely incorrect date causes the installation to fail later (because
gpgv refuses to validate the signature of the Release file, which makes
apt fail).

This update to clock setup detects when the system date is before the epoch
and then sets it to the epoch. When rdate is run after that, it will
successfully update to the correct current date/time and thus prevent the
failure of the installation.

This issue has been reported for some arm NAS systems and for Apple
powerbooks, so seems worth fixing for stable. The fix has been tested by
Martin Michlmayr.

Please accept the new version.

going on some testing in the meantime.

No objections here. Micah and I have been working w/ vserver upstream
and have a patch ready for 2.6.32. Of course, that means new
binary packages, so if we want to avoid NEW processing I can hold off
on committing...

J'ai la distribution Debian Etch et je voudrais faire la migration de mon système d'exploitation.
J'ai modifié ma sources.list en focntion de lenny.
Les trois opérations effectuées sont:
# aptitude update
# aptitude install apt dpkg aptitude
# aptitude dist-upgrade
A la fin de la dernière opération, il m'a été demandé de lancer LILO avant que je rédemarre. Et quand je lancais /sbin/lilo il m'a donné ce message:

En rédemarrant avec la commande reboot, je me suis endu compte que j'ai toujours l'ancienne distribution de Debian Etch au lieu de Debian Lenny.
Et quand, je veux réprendre les opérations, il me dit que c'est impossible d'initialiser la connexion à security.debian.org

libquantlib-0.9.7 has been removed from unstable. However,rquantlib is
still not built on several architectures (it's waiting for r-base, which
is waiting for fontconfig to be built / uploaded everywhere) and
quantlib-swig again FTBFS with a compiler error when it was retried on
amd64.

libprotobuf4 has already been removed from unstable and I have an active
hint for protobuf and mumble. However, mumble currently FTBFS on
mipsel; if I'm reading the build log correctly this should be solvable
once the latest version of fontconfig is available on mipsel (see the
changelogs of the last two fontconfig uploads for further details).

Please remove kcheckgmail from testing and stable.
The package is currently useless because gmail broke the login interface.

I've filed #561059 against the package to track it.

I'll try to get the new version which fixes the issue in volatile, as the
package may break once again during lenny's life time. This also means that
kcheckgmail should not migrate to testing either (even after that bug is
closed, so it needs a block).

I've plans to add support for other login and data fetcher methods, but this
requires quite some work and am not sure it will be on time for squeeze. Once
other methods are implemented kcheckgmail should be ready to be shipped on a
stable release.
