Saludos. Bueno me pregunto si es posible desarrollar una aplicacion para un cdrom multimedia en gambas. Hace un tiempo
estuve mirando gambas, pero era algo inestable aun, no se en este momento como se encuentra.Asi que he estado mirando varios IDE para desarrollo y no me he decido por uno en particular aunqe he encontrado muy buenos. He estado mirando python-libavg como alternativa a Adobe Director. pero parece que python-libavg esta aun algo verde.

Bueno creo que lo de la potencia esta dado por lo que necesites hacer. Lo de probar Gambas es por lo que hace algunos años estuve molestando con Basic, en esa epoca el MS-DOS te daba esa opcion, entonces estuve un tiempo intentando aprender basic pero no me dio en ese momento. Igual tampoco estaba dispuesto aprender Visual Basic, me perecia pesimo, por todas las macabras historia que habia visto alrededor de aplicaciones con Visual Basic, algo similar con lo que pasaba con Visual Fox Pro. Creo que en este momento mis dos opciones para desarrollo son Python, Gambas, C++.

Bueno por ahora va ganando el python en poco tiempo que lo vengo estudiando he comprendido muchos conceptos. y ha sido mucho mas facil por el soporte en documentacion en español que tiene con relacion a gambas. el c++ es para un nivel mas avanzado creo y no muy legible para iniciados.
