disc brake analysis

hello everyone,

i have carried out a coupled thermal mechanical analysis of disc brake in which am working on the temperature distribution over the disc and the brake pads. my analysis works well but the main problem is with the results.

i get an error message
"There is zero HEAT FLUX everywhere in the model based on the default criterion. please check the value of the average HEAT FLUX during the current iteration to verify that the HEAT FLUX is small enough to be treated as zero. if not, please use the solution controls to reset the criterion for zero HEAT FLUX"

i have set the initial temperature of the entire model as 20 deg celcius. i really dont know whats going wrong with the temperature analysis as am getting results the stress distribution but not for temperature distribution.

really need some urgent suggestions for this one.

thanking you.

rohan

hello everyone,

in regards with the above analysis regarding the coupled thermal-displacement analysis of the disc brake. i have changed the predefined field for the temperature from 20 deg celcius to 293K, now i dont get the "zero heat flux error" but the main problem still remains regarding the temperature variation. i get the stress variation in the entire model i.e. at the disc and the brake pads but i see no changes in the temperature it hardly goes upto 298K.

can anyone please help me with this.

thanking you in advance.

regards,

rohan
