displaying accented charactersDear list users,
we are using Squirrelmail 1.4.19 on a Debian Sarge installation, using apache 2.054 and php 5.2.0 at a customer of ours. Recently they opened an office in Mexico, which revealed an issue with the internationalization of the Squirrelmail webmail output of the spanish-written mails. Lots of the special signs and characters are being replaced by the &... version of it, as seen in this example: Administracion a écrit : si ya la cheque de hecho esta escrita en una placa. y espero estás segura que esté bien correcta la dirección We checked all normal things, internationalization options and such, support for it in packages, but we cannot seem to find where the issue lies. I hope someone on this list can point me to the cause, and hopefully the resolution too, of this issue, so we can help our client with this problem. Thanks in advance, Kind regards, -- Ampersant bvba - Bram Kortleven Dr. Jacobsstraat 1 - 2570 DUFFEL - Belgium Tel: +32 15 32 36 19 - Fax: +32 15 32 37 90 Email: bram.kortleven@... Re: displaying accented charactershttp://www.nabble.com/displaying-accented-characters-to24970098.html Could you show content-type and content-transfer-encoding headers of those broken emails? Which SquirrelMail translation is used by your Spanish users and which charset is set in SquirrelMail $default_charset setting. Please answer questions on squirrelmail-users mailing list instead of asking same question again on different mailing list. -- Tomas |
