distributed pressure load type Pn

Hi,

I need to apply a distributed pressure in a internal region of a mesh. It's element-based. From Abaqus manual, I could use:

*DLOAD
element set, Pn, magnitude

Does "n" in "Pn" mean the direction 1, 2, or 3?

What if I need to apply a uniform pressure along the nodal normal direction? How should I specify the direction then? thanks.

Pn specifies which element face, eg 1-6 for a hex element. The pressure is
always normal to the face.
You need to look at the element specification in the manual to sort out the
face numbering convention.
