ebay trophy 900I just noticed an ebay trophy 900 with 27k miles for sale at 5,500$. To paraphrase, it's in "immaculate condition, with a salvage history, fully maintained by owner " I am feeling much better about the 3,700 i paid for my '99 with 31K miles. I mean come on. The book value on these is only 4000.00 US.
How much are trophys selling for these days when you can get a clean sprint st for under 5k? I passed on a 01 sprint for $3850 that had 12,000 miles and was owned by an obsessive compulsive. Finally found the trophy, and couldn't be happier. |

RE: eBay trophy 900 I paid $2400 for my '01 BBBB with 87K on it that had been knocked
over in a parking lot. The right side is scratched up and the windshield was missing. While I was waiting for the new Clearview to arrive, I found two more, within 50 miles of me, for $2000 OBO with less than 25000 miles on them [one was 8K] in immaculate condition and never been dropped. Go Figure. I still love the bike and now it has some of me in it! <G> All I wanted was something that would keep up with my brothers '01 Ultra and now I have to let him lead all of the time or he has to work too hard to keep up with me.<G> BTW; I'm in Florida, near Melbourne. It pays to shop as there are a of people that are not aware of how good the newer Triumphs are and will pay too much for a Harley clone. I figure I'll have to ride it 'till it drops [or I do] to get my money's worth. HTH Ed J. -----Original Message----- From: TriumphTrophy@... Brake Pedal AdjustmentHi Gang;
I have a couple of questions regarding the brake pedal on my '01 BBBB. I would like to raise the pedal a little and it looks like there is room to do so. I was told to loosen the locknut, and then unscrew the rod to accomplish this. I can't seem to get much of a grip on the rod and am not sure just loosening the locknut allows it to turn anyway. If I have to remove the end piece, unscrew it some, then replace the pin, that seems more likely. The problem is that there is some kind of clip on the back of the pin that holds the clevis in place. My Haynes manual says there is a split pin but I can't see one. It looks like this "clip" is some kind of retainer that holds the pin in place. Am I correct? I don't want to pop it off of there and find out I was wrong as this area is very difficult to access and I'd rather ride it like it is than disable my rear brakes. Looks like I'd have to remove a lot of stuff to get better access. Having never been there, I'm probably making it more difficult than it is but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Any suggestions or help? Ed J. |

Re: Brake Pedal AdjustmentHi Ed - no need to disconnect the clevis from the linkage - loosen the locknut and the push rod will rotate inside the clevis - it's threaded at it's lower end. Unscrewing the rod from the clevis will raise your pedal - and vice versa. And of course the rod can rotate feely at its upper end, in the master cylinder. Just remember to retighten the locknut when you're happy with teh height!! Philip |

RE: Re: Brake Pedal AdjustmentThanks Phillip;
That's what it looked like but the rod didn't want to move easily and I'd rather know for sure before putting added pressure on something that's going to keep me from running into things! RE: eBay trophy 900everything is way down... i heard this weekend that you can get a brand new $12k buell out the door for $5k to $6k since they announced the shut down.
if i can find a '99 or newer platinum trophy for less than $3k I would buy it just to be able to scavenge parts. --- On Tue, 10/27/09, Ed Johnson <edljohnson2@...> wrote: From: Ed Johnson <edljohnson2@...> Subject: RE: [TriumphTrophy] eBay trophy 900 To: TriumphTrophy@... Re: ebay trophy 900From the prices that you report you guys in the states are paying way over what us UK based people are paying. Just have a look at www.ebay.co.uk. The prices are fractions of what you are paying and even then a lot of the stuff doesn't actually sell or attract a bid. What will the sellers accept as a private offer once the bike has been on the site for the third time?
I know you'll worry about salted winter roads but 90% of bikes here are laid up in the winter so don't get the dreaded steel and aluminium rot. Now how much is it to export a bike to the states and change the log book? Do I get the hint of a profitable business? --- In TriumphTrophy@..., bodger barclay <barclay.dan@...> wrote: > > > I paid £400 for my tatty bbb95 with 25k miles - which principally needed a > very major service....The clothes and lid - I went out and bought cost me > more than the bike.....sorry....... > > ltgesq wrote: > > > > I just noticed an ebay trophy 900 with 27k miles for sale at 5,500$. Re: ebay trophy 900Hi Kevin, People can set the "buy it now price" anywhere they want. But what sells is around $3000 or less. The high buy it now price is an indicator of an equally high "reserve price". Many times those bikes don't even get a single bid.
Some of the sellers just keep putting Trophy parts up for sale over and over. Same starting price, same results, no bids. I seen the same $40 belly pan up for bid since August. Re: ebay trophy 900Just a little caveat to "Buy It Now". I am pretty sure it has to be at least 10% higher than the starting price. I know that for a fact on items below $100, but maybe they relax the restriction when you go higher.

Re: ebay trophy 900I wasn't offering opinion on the BIN versus starting price, particularly for items below $100.
I was quoting actual experience because of the Trophy aluminum fuel knobs I sell on eBay. I set the base price at 68.00. One time I decided to try a buy it now at $72.00. It rejected it and came up with a dialog box that said the BIN must be at least 10% more than the starting price. Now, just because I am a computers systems test engineer, I decided to test it. So I went in 50-cent increments until I got above $74.80 (that's 68.00 plus 10%). It gave me the same dialog box each time until I hit $75 and then it accepted it. Is this unique to eBay Motors? Don't know. But I know what I observed. Jack Placerville, CA --- In TriumphTrophy@..., Paul <paul@...> wrote: > > Nope. the only ebay restriction is that the BIN is higher than the > starting price. Re: ebay trophy 900 (aluminum fuel knob direct purchase)Well, thank you for asking about "direct" purchases, Bob.
I am now able to sell them a tad cheaper than when I first started out, owing to some streamlining in the machining process (making them better AND cheaper). As such, I can sell them for $72 including shipping to the US. Or for $81 including shipping to the UK. Other destinations I will have to check. And if you use PayPal, I have to ask for 3 percent more to cover their surcharge. You can pay me by personal check or money order if you like, but of course, I will wait for it to clear funds before shipping. But it is an option if you do not have PayPal. Thanks again. Re: Re: ebay trophy 900Hi Jack,
Irecently paid $8.00 (ithink), for one of the plastic knobs. Mine still worked, but, I'd bumped it somehow, and broke it. So I bought two. One , on, and one in the tool-kit. I'd sure like to have one of those fancy knobs, but , I'm living on $800.month Vets benefits, disability. That's a weeks chow for me and Momma. Anybody looking for a "Hound dog loyal employee near Anahiem, Ca. I'm , an aircraft electrician (Navy), a Graduate Gemologist G.I.A,, And I just love Hanna's gems. Happy Day!
