I am having the same problem and still can not solve, can someone help us?

Philip and Jörg have been given svn access this morning, as there was no
objects to my request to add them. They are "Medior Members" and will
joinly maintain the SyncML protocol in EGroupware. I (Ralf Becker) will
act as their mentor.

Stylite invited both to an EGroupware development workshop hosted at
Stylite's offices at 24. and 25. May 2009.

you can use Admin >> Manual / Help >> Site config to setup your
egroupware as local manual (url empty, and wiki-id 0) and then use Admin

Dont update after you start translating, as the update overwrites
without asking!

Can a site admin mail me a backup of the Wiki tables of the (English) manual? I'ld prefer to do the translations locally and copy them back later, so site visitors won't be bothered with half work...

The domain is owned by Pim Snel, you need to contact him.
I think it makes more sense adding Dutch translations (if not already
done) to www.egroupware.org and forwarding there. You can now translate

I'm a bit disappointed by the Dutch eGW manual at the moment. Right now, I'm
working on 2 big eGW implentations for which I'ld like to see a more active
Dutch community, or at least up-to-date information.

My questions to all ye:
- Is the Dutch site (egroupware.nl) still being actively maintained?
- Is somebody still working on the Dutch manual translation?
- For those Q's that'll be answered with "No", does anybode object if I
reanimate this?

Hello,

my name is Philip Herbert. I work as a freelance project manager for a regionally operarting company
in Bonn, Germany. This customer was not using a Groupware Solution at all, instead there where several attempts with
simple webcalendars. Of course everyone was asking for a Groupware with synchronisation. When looking for an easy to start
with solution with lots of potential I ended up having a closer look at eGroupware, focussing on the sync stuff.

It seemed that in a very basic scenario (1 or 2 supported devices at the user side), everything really worked well.
A presentation of the entire eGroupware at Stylite convinced us to go ahead.
In the mean time I had read on the list, that the former project member maintaining the sync code had left the project.
I started to work myself into the sync code to be prepared to be able to support the users in case there would be problems
coming up. At this stage I started to run a few tests with Funambol Iphone and Outlook Sync because this was what users where
asking for on the list.

My passion always has been to work myself into technical details at low level, so I ended up spending quite a bit of
time analyzing what was happening in the background, and of course finding potential problems that I did not want to see
on our users devices.

At this stage I had already aprox. 30 Users using sync without any severe problems in daily use.

Release 1.6 was on the way ( the first release candidate was out) and I started to fix some problems that where causing
issues. This resulted in a patch that ended up in the 1.6 Release.

Since then I had a lot of ideas and was experimenting, but the exceptionally high effort for testing, the lack of
usable feedback and the fact that things where working well at the local site prevented me from going ahead.

Now Jörg has really put a lot of work into the sync code and I believe that not being the only person working on the
Sync code is again a very good starting point for future development.

I believe that an easy to use, out of the box working sync solution is every important for the eGroupware Project.

source.
My first contact with eGW was some years ago when a friend installed 1.4 on
our common server. I was impressed by the features and liked the SyncML
synchronisation. It is for me the preferred tool to keep my mobile devices
up-to-date.
Soon I felt the temptation to "optimze" the code for my devices -- that's open
source ;-) Since I now found some time again for this "project", I started
porting my changes to the current version 1.6. Suddenly I found myself all
over the sycml code of eGW and added more an more new features. I recognize
that my work will only survive if it is part of the offical egW development.
So I offered my help in this area and hope for your support. Together with

new SyncML developer Philip Herbert and Jörg Lehrke

Philip already worked on eGroupware's SyncML for the 1.6 release and
Jörg undertook the effort to port again the current Horde code to
eGroupware. He maintains that currently as a patch which supports now
eg. SyncML version 1.2.

Christian and I both think they are a welcome additions to the
eGroupware project and suggest making both medior members with immediate
(supervised) commit rights to the project's svn repository.

I will add them to the project, if there are no objections.

@Philip and Jörg: Please reply with an introduction of yourself, so
everyone gets a change to know you a little better.

We (Christian, Philip, Jörg and me) had a telephone conference today:
The plan is to add/port Jörg's patch to trunk, to allow more people to
test it and to include it in the next eGroupware release.

Cannot add/edit users Blank Screen

When I or any other admin try to add or edit a user, we get a screen with all of Egroupware's normal menus and buttons, but nothing else. Where we would normally see a menu for adding or editing users, there is simply a blank.

I suspect a PHP problem, but our error log and session log has apparently not been logging since late December.

This is mission critical. Any ideas?

Egroupware Calendar ics compose bug

Hello everybody, I've found a strange issue: I've set Time Zone Offset in preferences for my personal account server + 01:00, now I open any appointment in calendar in in Actions (on the bottom of the screen) I choose "mail all participants" - it sends an email with event.ics attached, and the fields DTSTART and DTEND inside this object are one hour more then real (they set in UTC). If I chose Export from Actions, then event.ics is generated absolutely right. I believe it has some connection with that i set 1 hour offset with the server, but it's absolutely a bag, because time in UTC should have no connection to any offset. Can anybody help me?

Unable to access admin functions

I have had admin access, but now the admin functions are gone. I didn't remove them.
Now when I manually go to an admin function (ie. phpinfo) I get the following message:

"Access not permitted
You've tried to open the eGroupWare application: admin, but you have no permission to access this application. "

If am producing any change on the system....ie. modifying some user setings like adding a new application on its account, application changes...e.tc.... I need to log out and log in again to see the change, otherwise it will not be reflected.

Is any setting/way of making changes more dinamic?

When I do a new message and click in the address icon a have this error because the
contact_etag filed in (contact_etag ILIKE '%@%') is not varchar but integer.

Multiple address books - custom fields

Hello,
I have created three different address book types and assigned custom fileds to these by selecting the subtype.

However all fields seem to be showing for all addressbooks. From what I understand and have read, this should not be the case.

Is this a bug? or am I doing something wrong.

Apparently the problem lies from missing dependency on egroupware-emailadmin.

Btw, I've reported it there : http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=499803 and wonder why you didn't do it in the first place since it's a bug in Debian... anyway, I hope this works for you now.

Is it possible to search all users?

Hello!
I've inherited an old E-groupware 1.0.0.009 server that has been left in place for archival purposes. We moved to Exchange 2007 last year, but the messages on E-Groupware were never migrated to the new server.

It's running on a Red Had Fedora Core server (don't know which version right now), and I know very little about Linux.

I'd hoped we would never have to go back to it, but something came up and I need to do searches across all users for specific key words. For instance, I need to search every email in every user's mailbox for a specific name. I'd prefer to do it in one search rather than logging into every single user and searching their account individually.

Is it possible to do this?

I stepped into the same error.

My installation was egroupware-calendar + all prerequisites, as forced by apt-get/aptitude.

The error goes away after installing the complete egroupware suite. obviously there is a quirk
in the apt dependency list of some egroupware subsystems.
