eGroupware authentication, Samba as DC?

Under eGroupware setup configurations, Is there an option to authenticate egroupware accounts using Samba domain controller?

I tried using ADS but I guess only works with LDAP as the storage backed. Our samba use normal tdbsam backed, Is it not supported?

permission Issue

Hello Friends,

I am trying to install egroupware on my server and i have 10 ip's, one of the IP (67.223.238.147) i am using to host Egroupware but during installaton stage i have permission issues.

The 1st Error is :
Checking if php.ini setting session.save_path='' is writable by the webserver: myegroup/nobody drwxr-xr-x
is not writable by the webserver !!!

2nd Error:
Checking file-permissions of .././temp for not world writable: myegroup/myegroup drwxrwxrwx
.././temp is world writable !!!

3rs Error:
Checking file-permissions of header.inc.php for not world readable: myegroup/myegroup -rw-r--r--
header.inc.php is world readable !!!

We tried giving all the permisions in either ways but unable to fix it.

Your help would be greatly appriciated.

Roles in Project Manager

Don't know if this is related to my previous post about milestones not working,

When I try to access roles (PM > Edit > Members tab > Roles "Edit" button), the popup shows the home page. The error log shows:

milestones in 1.6 rc5?

Are milestones in rc5 not working? I get a blank pop-up dialog when I click the Add Milestone button on a gantt chart.

Infolog bug

Hello!

I tried to file a item to bug tracker, but weird error "An error occured. Please remove your cookies and try again." and I cannot create account to official bug tracker, hopefully someone picks this up from here.

Egroupware 1.6 rc4 running on fedora 9 & PHP 5.2.6. Egroupware is installed from eGroupware-1.6.rc4-6.1.noarch.rpm

Problem is that Infolog is not working correctly on standard user. Infolog link is showed to the right people and they can add infolog items via addressbook etc. but infolog applet itself prints empy page on firefox and internal server error message in Kongueror.

If you are admin user infolog is functioning as it should.

When I do a new message and click in the address icon a have this error because the
contact_etag filed in (contact_etag ILIKE '%@%') is not varchar but integer.

by-pass creation of directories out of public directory

Hi,

When you set-up EGW it is necessary the groups and backup directory must be out of the public directory of the website.

Is there a way to by-pass this?

As you can define access permission for each article, you could do this.

What you cannot do is to define a seperate wiki-startpage for euch group. You could list all the group-wikis on the Startpage. People will only be able to access the wikis, they have access to.
Everytime somebdody creates a new article he will have to set the right properly and you should check the search-function, if any article, the person has no read access to, are displayed anyway.

- each member of one group may edit and see the wiki related to its groups
- may not get access the wiki of other groups?

I apologize, my message was not clear. I would like that some users may not authorized to create a project, while having the possibility to see the project created by others, it they are granted access.

- users y are in group 2
- Group 1 gives access in ProjectManager to read of Group 2=users y

II.
- User manager creates a project or project.
- In this project you have project members. Each member has a role.
- Project Manager = coordinator = full access
- Project member = developer = read + add
- Project partner = other users = read

prevent some users to create a project

Hi,

I would like to give access to the project manager to some users, giving them the possibility to see some poject created by others users but not giving them the possibility to create one projects?

I have tried with ProjectManager - Preferences - ACL in
index.php?menuaction=preferences.uiaclprefs.index&acl_app=projectmanager&owner=-23
with no success

Is it possible?

Hi,

somewhere in the general prefs egroupware/index.php?menuaction=preferences.uisettings.index&appname=preferences
there is a setting "How would you like to select accounts" this takes effect in all apps and some options will result in only the groups, the user belongs to, to get shown.

For calendar, project manager, and file manager applications, I would like that drop-down menu that list the users could be restricted to a group whereas there are all users. Is it possible?
