emacs TRAMP with server side GLOBAL

I see from today's announcement that sever side GLOBAL is available. I wonder if this could work when I'm editing code with tramp mode in emacs. With tramp mode, emacs opens files on a remote server with `scp`. It would be nice if the emacs gtags mode could make use of server side GLOBAL and open the tag location of tramp also.
