Hello

I’ve recently installed APC UPS daemon version 3.14.7 and am very impressed with it’s ability to communicate with the APC Smart UPS. Powerchute kept losing communication and we’d have to replug it but haven’t had that problem. I’d like to get email communication working for power issues and read in the documentation below…however I cannot find c:\acpupsd\examples folder. I have every other folder but examples and am wondering if this was left out of version 3.14.7 or if there is another way I can find it.

Email Notification of Events

Windows systems, it is possible to receive notification of apcupsd events that are passed to apccontrol. This is possible using a simple email program.

If you wish to try this program, look at the files named changeme, commfailure, commok, onbattery, and mainsback in the directory c:\apcupsd\examples. To use them, you must modify the SYSADMIN variable to have a valid email address, then copy the files into the directory c:\apcupsd\etc\apcupsd.

Thanks

Hi Brian,

The examples folder is indeed blank on my installation as well. I'm running
Apcupsd on Windows XP. As regards e-mail notification, Ed Dondlinger
(edondlinger@...) has created a set of scripts for windows.

I have them loaded as I write this message and they work flawlessly.
