embedded build/install

Hello list.

We are using FUSE here but I am having a bit of a tough time automating
the build for our embedded system.

My issue is this.  First off I'm using fuse 2.8.0.

I run configure without a prefix because I need to install in two
places.  An applications staging directory and then the bsp root file
system.  I define the bsp root file system as the file system I package
up to put on our target board.

Normally with most of the other packages I create, I just do the
--prefix thing and it works.

The problem is that then when I have --prefix defined AND I use DESTDIR
it doesn't install in the root file system properly.

My question is, I want to install the "sdk" portion in the application
stagging directory and then I want to install just the libs in the root
file system directory structure.

Is there a way to do this?  I tried eprefix without much luck.  I guess
I could specify each of the bindir libdir etc... is that the way most do
it?

thanks.
