encoding problem symbols

Hello List,

i have a problem with my symbols that i want to use in my map.

I have some MapInfo Fontfiles and want to use some symbols from them. The problem is that not all of them work properly and I  think  that encoding is the problem ….

If I ask the mapserver for that layer like this:

I’ll get the image of this layer, some symbols show up, some symbols have the bracket symbol (which shows up if he don’t find the right symbol to a given characternumber)

If I change the FORMAT parameter to image/gif instead of image/png the bracket symbols show up with the right symbol and the other symbols which have show up right before now have the bracket symbol ….

Hope my Problem is clear?! :)

Somebody got an idea what the problem is and how I can fix? Or is it not possible to fix it?
