Trying to use wavepad on ubuntu worked well so far - however on a new computer with ubuntu 9.10 I get this error message:
[Image: http://lh3.ggpht.com/_w_-tH82vS_M/SvUCQRngobI/AAAAAAAAFGI/LkWpXJN1Syw/Screenshot.png ]
any idea how to solve this problem?
it happens during installation and when trying to open- it does open but then doesn't work.
(I have tried to use scribe (same company) and it works well.............)
thanks for your help

What's the Wine version? And could you give us some terminal output?

The version is 1.1.29
I try to run the program from the panel - application - wine- and it starts but not in a way that is workable - it has half of the window and nothing is working.
when I close it - that error message window comes up.
if I was to run it through the terminal how would I do it?

So I've found out how to run it through the terminal and it does the same thing.
The terminal output is:
fixme:traffic:TcRegisterClient (2 (nil) 0x32fdf4 0x4e8d04) stub
err:toolbar:ToolbarWindowProc unknown msg 0466 wp=00000000 lp=0031d6e0
fixme:msg:ChangeWindowMessageFilter 4a 00000001

any ideas?
thanks

Need complete terminal output after you click that "Close" button.

There is no output after I close the software.
Funny enough I tried "scribe" which is another NCH software- it gives the same message but works fine! so I am very confused now..........
Thanks for your help

Also I forgot to mention two more things: I have the same problem on 1.1.32 version of wine.
and the second is that the error window message doesn't appear any more (after I've changed the trafic.dll to native) but the program still doesn't work.
thanks again

I don't know if it would help in figuring out what is wrong but I had the software working perfectly well on ubuntu 8.10 - when I upgraded to 9.10 it kept working well. Then the computer crashed and I had to re-install Ubuntu 9.10 and now I can't work this software any more - which leads me to think that it has to do with libraries that were available for ibex and were kept available during the upgrade but were abolished when I've re-installed koala. any ideas? any help?
thank you
Santi

Do you remember which Wine version was it? Wine tends to regress a lot when lots of new things are being added.

It was 1.1.32 -
When you say "lot of things being added " what do you mean by things? and added to what?
I've now down graded to Ibex- just to see if I can get it to work again but I can't.
I have no idea now why it worked in the first place- so I'm just about to give it a miss.

To Wine of course.

Then you had some native overrides most likely.
