error on Debian x86-64Hi all,
Try to connecto to mysql server through openoffice.org 3.1 on Debian squeeze x86-64 architecture and receive error: "Unable to load the libmysqlcppconn.so library." I had been running debian squeeze i386 on Vbox and mysql connector worked fine... So I conclude the issue is in architecture.. Any clues? If the latter, then it's unlikely the extension version from extensions.services.openoffice.org will work there, you should wait for your distributor to release an own compatible flavor of the extension. Re: error on Debian x86-64Frank,
the fact is that 32 bit version worked Fine on debian squeeze i386 So don't blame Debian. I can reproduce it with a 64 bit system as with the Debian Repo Version as with the Vanilla Version It seems that the 64 bit version of the mysql-connector has the same Problem as I found with the 32 bit before the release. > > I had been running debian squeeze i386 on Vbox and mysql connector > worked fine... For the record. This is not a distribution problem but an architecture problem. This problem is only at the 64 bit version not the 32 bit version independent with OpenOffice.org version you use. Re: error on Debian x86-64Hi Otto,

I didn't blame them, yet :) We're talking about a binary component here, where using the component in an environment (OOo) compiled with different settings than the vanilla OOo build may or may not succeed. The fact that it succeeds for 32 bit doesn't automatically imply it succeeds for 64 bit, thus my question. However, Mechtilde has a good point, we had a problem in the alpha with library dependencies, which we worked around in the 32 bit version of the Beta, but not in the 64 bit version. So, chances are you hit this known problem, which will be fixed in the final release next week.
