evolution mapi issuesMy exchange account was just migrated to a 2007 server. I disabled the 2003 account, and am trying to set up the 2007 account with evolution-mapi. Every time I get to the point in the new account wizard where I authenticate, evo crashes. Here is the command line output. Thanks for any help or suggestions. I really don't want to use OWA, and I can't get MailDAV to recognize my java re.

If this is Evo 2.28.0, you need the first four git commits after its release, which fixes segfaulting on my system. Or get 2.28.1 (or get your distro to do that). _______________________________________________ Evolution-list mailing list Evolution-list@... http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list |

As mentioned, 2.28.0 is (IMO) crap, but it was fixed REALLY fast. Unfortunately due to gnome's release system, the fix was only released at 2.28.1, unless you want to compile it yourself (that's what I did). I haven't touched my Buntu install for ages, so I have no idea what version Karmic has. You should check, and lobby for 2.28.1 if you have to. _______________________________________________ Evolution-list mailing list Evolution-list@... http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list |

I've also updated my makefile for building code from the Gnome sources so it works with the new git repositories, and it can also build the openmapi code as well. It's still in testing but a few people have used it successfully; let me know if you want a copy. I'm having very mixed results with stability; I haven't been able to get Evo to function with MAPI anywhere near as well as I had it working a year ago, with our Exchange 2003 server and the OWA backend. In particular, I've never even come close to getting the calendar support working, and I'm seeing a lot of failures trying to SEND mail through the Exchange server. In short, so far, there's no chance I can give up my lookOut! running in CrossOver and go back to Evo full time--as much as I'd love to. _______________________________________________ Evolution-list mailing list Evolution-list@... http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list |

I have tried DavMail with a little success. Ironically, I can't get it to run under gnome because it can't find the java on that machine. It is working fine in KDE so I may end up using kmail if my experiences are like Paul's. -- Art Alexion _______________________________________________ Evolution-list mailing list Evolution-list@... http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list |

Re: evolution mapi issues
Ubuntu 9.10 / Karmic has Evolution 2.28.1, but the MAPI code is still 2.28.0 for some reason.
dpkg -l | grep -i mapi ii evolution-mapi 0.28.0-0ubuntu1 dpkg -l | grep -i evolution ii evolution 2.28.1-0ubuntu1 It has not picked up the four critical GIT checkins yet (mentioned elsewhere on this list) , and still (because of the downlevel MAPI) does not work out of the box with Exchange 2007.
