excessive buttons of new add-onDoes anyone know how to remove the toolbar & some of the delicious buttons & menus that automatically install onto firefox when you install the latest delcious add-on?
I was quite content with the old add-on, which consisted only of the checkerboard button to take you to your delicious page, & the tag button to add a new bookmark. (even then there was this unnecessary delicious drop-down menu added alongside the usual firefox menus - "file," "edit", etc. - does anyone know how to remove that?) But when i upgraded to firefox 3.0, i was forced to upgrade to the latest delicious add-on, and that includes a total of 9 (that's right NINE!) buttons occupying various places in my browser, plus, in addition to the earlier unnecessary menu, an entire new toolbar to take up more space from my already small screen. I've tried right-clicking on all these buttons, menus, & the toolbar, & most don't give you the option of removing them (most simply take me to my delicious page - like i need 9 fricking button lurking all over my screen to take me to my delicious page at the slightest accidental provocation). Apparently the only option is to uninstall the whole add-on & quit using delicious altogether. That would be extreme, but the annoyance of having all these unnecessary things all over my browser, & the sense that my firefox is being colonized by a commercial entity much like all the microsoft crap many of us had been fleeing in the first place, is enough to make me consider that option. I will hold off a little longer in case there is some way i can remove some of these things & still continue to use delicious (which in itself i still think is a brilliant idea & very useful). Thanks for your help |

Re: excessive buttons of new add-onIt sounds like you want "classic mode", which only includes two basic
buttons (and a context menu button), like the old add-on. You can change to this by going to Tools -> Delicious Options -> Advanced -> Switch to Classic Mode. We're working on making Classic Mode an option during the initial install process, to avoid annoying people who prefer these simple buttons. Also, thanks for pointing out that you tried right-clicking to remove the extra buttons; we'll look into making that possible in a future version. Right now you can go to Tools -> Delicious Options to remove the status bar icons, and you can go to View -> Toolbars to remove the Delicious toolbar. Or, just switch to Classic Mode.
